A practical check for blur, cropped details, locked PDFs and files for more than one person.
Start with the original file
Use your original downloaded PDF or a high-quality image whenever you have one. A screenshot of a screenshot loses detail, especially in small numbers, photographs and QR codes. Enlarging a small file does not restore the detail it has already lost.
Open the file before uploading. Check the name, photograph, document number and expiry information where applicable. Printing reproduces the supplied information; it does not correct an error in the document.
Inspect both sides at a useful size
Zoom in until the card fills your screen. Text should remain readable and edges should look distinct. Check that nothing important is cut off at the top, bottom or corners. Include the reverse side when it contains information you want on the finished card.
For photographs or scans, use even light and avoid shadows, reflections, fingers and a tilted camera. Crop out the desk or background, but leave the full card boundary visible. If the result is blurred, take a new image rather than applying a sharpening filter.
Unlock PDFs on your own device
The upload form accepts PDF, JPG, PNG and WebP, with up to 20 files per product and a 10 MB limit per file. A locked PDF asks for its password after upload, so we can open it for printing.
Do not send account passwords, one-time passwords or login credentials as a print file. Only supply the document or artwork needed for your order.
Make multi-card orders easy to understand
Choose the number of cards separately from the number of uploaded files. One two-page PDF might describe a single card; two image files might be the front and back of one card. Files are not automatically a count of printed cards.
For different people, use a consistent naming pattern such as person-01-front and person-01-back. If the order would need more than 20 files, contact support before checkout to agree how the files and quantities should be grouped.
