Vishnu Photo Frames

Lord Vishnu and Narayan, often shown with Lakshmi, in rich, traditional colours. A good fit for a mandir wall, in 8×12 or 12×18 inch with a black or white frame.

Vishnu and his forms

Vishnu is the preserver, and these 42 frames show him in the forms families most often put on a mandir wall. The calm standing Vishnu with conch, discus, mace and lotus is the classic picture. Beyond that, there are four forms worth knowing about.

  • Narasimha appears in a fierce form tearing out of a pillar to protect Prahlada, in a seated form with Lakshmi on his lap, and in a quieter portrait. Many families keep a Narasimha picture at the entrance for protection.
  • Lakshmi Narayan shows Vishnu and Lakshmi together, either on a lotus throne or resting on the serpent Shesha in the cosmic ocean. It is a traditional wedding and housewarming gift.
  • Venkateshwara and Lakshmi relate to the Tirupati temple; the most devout will prefer Balaji photo frames.
  • Ranganatha reclines on Shesha at Srirangam, with Lakshmi at his feet.

There is also a Satyanarayan puja frame showing Vishnu in a banana-leaf shrine with a kalash, which suits the monthly Satyanarayan katha, and a Garuda frame showing the divine couple riding Vishnu's eagle. Related pages: Lakshmi and Radha Krishna, and the whole of God photo frames.
