Kali Maa photo frames
Kali is the fierce form of the mother goddess, the destroyer of fear and of evil. These 11 frames show her in two moods, and you can choose the one that suits your worship.
The gentler form is a blue-skinned goddess seated on a pink lotus in a red sari, with a raised hand and a lotus, in a gold arch or against a sunrise. This is the quieter picture, often chosen for a home mandir where the family prefers a calm, motherly image.
The fiercer form, as seen in Dakshineswar, Kalighat and across Bengal, stands over Shiva with a sword, a severed head and a bowl in her hands, with a garland of skulls and wild hair, against a dark glow. It is a strong, dramatic picture for a devotee of the dark goddess, and hangs at Kali Puja, which falls on the night of Diwali in Bengal.
Both forms use rich reds, blacks and gold. For other forms of the goddess, see Durga and more goddess frames, or return to God photo frames.
