Where to find your RC file

If your vehicle's registration certificate is in DigiLocker or in the mParivahan app, download it as a PDF. That file is clear and complete, and it has none of the glare a photo can have. Understanding what is on an RC

The registration certificate records the registration number, the date of registration, the owner's name, the make and model, the chassis and engine numbers and the vehicle class. If the vehicle is on a loan, the lender may be shown as hypothecation. Zoom in on each of these on your file before you upload. They should all be clearly readable. A cropped or blurry file prints cropped or blurry.

When you sell or buy a vehicle

A change of owner is recorded by the transport department, and a new RC shows the new name. Do not print an RC for a vehicle you no longer own. If the owner's name or address has changed, update it through the transport department first and then print from the new file.

A card for each vehicle

If you ride a bike and drive a car, you have two RCs. Upload a file for each and set the quantity to 2. Name the files by vehicle, such as "Activa RC" or "Swift RC", so they are easy to tell apart when the cards arrive.
