Murugan photo frames
Murugan, also called Kartikeya, Subramanya or Skanda, is the god of war and wisdom and is especially loved in Tamil Nadu, and also in Kerala, Karnataka, Sri Lanka and among Tamil families abroad. These 11 frames show him with his vel, the divine spear, and his mount, the peacock.
Designs
The frames fall into a few moods. In some he stands in a flower-decorated arch with garlands of yellow and orange blooms, which is how his image looks at festival time. In others he stands before a hill temple with a waterfall, which recalls the six Arupadai Veedu shrines. A starry galaxy version in deep blue and gold feels modern, and a sunrise version with peacocks and lamps at his feet is calm.
Thai Poosam and Skanda Shashti are the two festivals when his frames are most often bought, either for the home or as a gift for a family who has completed a kavadi.
Murugan is the son of Shiva and Parvati; the full family is in Shiv Parivar frames. For his brother, see Ganesha frames, and for the whole range, God photo frames.
