Some anniversaries deserve a number. These 9 frames make the count of years the centrepiece: a giant 1, 25 or 50 built from family photographs, with the couple's names and wedding date set around it.

The first anniversary frame uses a large "1" over "365 days of us", which feels personal rather than formal. The silver jubilee frame spells 25 in silver-grey numerals on a light background, with a line such as "Happy Silver Jubilee, Mom & Dad", and the golden version uses a gold 50 on white. A parents' variant adds a portrait of an older couple at the bottom. You supply the photos that fill the numbers, so choose ones with a clear subject, since the numerals are made from many small tiles.

Gathering sixty or so photos is half the fun, and it is a good activity for the whole family before the celebration. For the most formal gift, the silver and gold designs read well from across a room.
