## Delhi, NCR and the state on your licence

Someone living in Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram or Faridabad may drive into Delhi, so a Delhi address does not always mean a Delhi licence, and a Delhi licence does not always mean a Delhi address. ## What the Delhi Transport Department offers

The Transport Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, publishes its services at transport.delhi.gov.in. Its driving licence section lists online appointment and payment, renewal, duplicate licence, learner licence and international driving permit. ## Taking a photograph that prints well

Choose a window with soft daylight and a plain table. Put the phone flat above the card and keep the flash off. Do not photograph the card on a glass table or under a bright lamp, which add glare. Take both sides and zoom in to read each digit.

## Checking what the licence says

Start with the name, the date of birth and the licence number. Then read the validity dates. Look at the vehicle classes on the back. On the back, LMV is a light motor vehicle such as a car, and MCWG is a motorcycle with gear. If you see an error, the Delhi transport authority has to correct it first.
