## What the department itself says about digital licences

The Commissionerate of Transport and Road Safety, Government of Tamil Nadu, publishes its information at tnsta.gov.in. Its site has a section for driving licence services, a link to Sarathi, a tile for licence status and guides to downloading the digital driving licence through the Sarathi portal, DigiLocker and the mParivahan app. Those guides are the right place to learn how to get the file. Start with the spelling of your name. Look at the date of birth, the licence number and the validity dates. Then read the vehicle classes. LMV means a light motor vehicle, which includes a car.
