How to Order a PVC Aadhaar Card

The two ways to get an Aadhaar card on PVC, what each one is, and which suits you.

The two ways to get an Aadhaar card on PVC, what each one is, and which suits you.

Option 1: the official UIDAI PVC card

UIDAI offers its own PVC Aadhaar card through its official service. It is issued by UIDAI and sent to the address on record. The fee, the steps and the delivery time are set by UIDAI and have changed before, so check them on its website before you order.

Choose this if you want the card UIDAI itself recommends.

Option 2: a private PVC print from your file

A private print is a durable wallet-size copy of an Aadhaar file you already hold, such as the downloaded e-Aadhaar PDF. It is made by a printing service, not issued by UIDAI, and we do not claim it is an official card.

Choose this if you only want a sturdy copy for your own use and you already have a clear file. The starting price and the delivery charge are shown on the product page.

Before you order a private print

Open the file and check that the name, photograph and number are sharp. Decide whether you want a masked or a full copy, because we print exactly what the file shows. Then upload it and choose the quantity.

For official use, ask the organisation which form of Aadhaar it accepts. A private print makes no promise of acceptance.

How to choose between the two

Ask what the card is for. If an organisation needs an official Aadhaar document, use the route UIDAI provides and ask the organisation what it accepts. If you want a durable copy of a file you already hold for your own convenience, a private print is quick and costs less than most people expect.

You can also do both: keep the official card for formal use and carry a sturdy private copy for everyday reference. Whichever you choose, keep your original files safe and never share an OTP with anyone who contacts you about an Aadhaar order.
