Voter ID (EPIC) vs e-EPIC: Differences

What the physical voter ID and the digital e-EPIC are, and what each is used for.

What the physical voter ID and the digital e-EPIC are, and what each is used for.

The two formats

EPIC is the Elector’s Photo Identity Card. The e-EPIC is a portable digital version of the same card in PDF form, which you can keep on a phone or print. Both carry your EPIC number and photograph.

Printing either one

You can order a durable PVC copy of a file you already hold. It is a private copy, not a replacement EPIC, and acceptance is up to the authority or organisation asking for it.

Common questions

Is the e-EPIC the same as my voter ID? It is the digital version of the same card, in PDF form, carrying the same EPIC number and photograph.

Can I use a printout instead of the card? That is decided by the authority or organisation asking for it, so ask before relying on a printout.

Where do I get an e-EPIC? Use the official voter services named above; their steps change, so follow their current instructions.

Before you print

Open the file, check the photograph, name and EPIC number at full size, and use the original download rather than a screenshot. We reproduce the file as supplied.
